Claim Process

THE CLAIM PROCESS

STEP 1 – LODGING A CLAIM

If your bike or cycling accessories have been lost, damaged or stolen, lodge a claim through your insurance company. Your insurer will then contact Insurance Bikes Australia (IBA), asking us to handle your claim and reinstate you to the position you were in prior to your loss.

IBA has been serving cyclists Australia-wide for more than 20 years, and our team is seriously credentialed when it comes to understanding bikes. Combined, we have more than 200 years’ experience in cycling-related fields, ranging from world-class competitive cycling through to bike retailing, wholesaling and repair.

STEP 2 – VALIDATION

The validation process ensures you get the right repair or best replacement for your bike or accessories. We will contact you within 24 hours of receiving your claim details from your insurer to get things started. Any evidence you can supply to support your claim is helpful. This may include:

  • Photos of your bike or accessories (even if only partially in shot)
  • Receipts of purchase
  • Maintenance receipts and reports or any documentation relating to maintenance
  • Social media images showing you and your bike
  • Video footage of the bike in use

STEP 3 – REPLACEMENT/REPAIR

Once we have an agreed value, IBA can help you find the best replacement bike and accessories, or find a reliable repair.

As we have access to all the major brands in Australia, locally-sourced bikes come with Australian warranties and support.

You also have the opportunity to change, upgrade or customise any replacement bike or accessories. So, if your track racing days are behind you, you may want to switch to a mountain bike, or you might want to get bikes for the kids instead. We can help you find the best solution.

STEP 4 – DELIVERY

We will discuss delivery options with you. Typically, if everything is in stock, you will receive your replacement bike/accessories within 7 to 14 days. If you have an emergency situation, such as an imminent race, please let us know so we can switch to a higher gear.
